January Update

We haven't been able to make an escape yet this year, though I know it is very early in January still. Sue and I did spend the New Year aboard with our very dear friends Will and Cathy. Will was my Best Man at our wedding in 1970! We had a very pleasant but quite celebration to the start of 2012.

Our Snug

Television reception is nil at our moorings in Crick so we watched the midnight fireworks spectacular on my iPhone. Still looked pretty amazing though!

We stoked up the stove and were extremely snug as we swigged the bubbly.

Then we went to bed........

Will and Cath went home later on New Year's Day and that night Sue and I experienced a very wet, windy, rock and roll night. We were both woken by gale force winds and heavy rain, not to mention the buffeting of the boat against the jetty.
Consequently we managed only a short cruise. In actual fact we only sailed half way down the marina in order to turned round and refuel. It's not good, apparently to leave the fuel tank anything other than full for any period of time. This avoids condensation build up inside the tank.

Our Grandson Lucas then joined us for a couple of days but was as disappointed as us not to be able to go for a trip. A good book is one alternative.

We decided that as the weather was so bad we should return home the following day. This was definitely the right decision as it got extremely rough over the next few days.

As we are now on the verge of moving home, it looks like we will not be visiting Tempranillo for a while. I will, though when there is anything to report, be updating this blog and we will make every effort to go cruising asap!
